Logica named leader for sustainability services
Logica is a market leader for sustainable technology services, according to independent analysis firm Verdantix in their latest "Green Quadrant Sustainable Technology Services" report published January 12, 2011.
The firm praised Logica for multiple, "innovative sustainable technology projects including electric vehicle infrastructure in the Netherlands, building energy efficiency for the UK Ministry of Defense, renewable energy management systems in Portugal, and low carbon electricity networks." The report also commended Logica for its strategic commitment to sustainability.
In addition the report scores Logica as ‘Best in Class’ Sustainable Technology Provider across four aspects:
• Building energy efficiency
• Renewable energy
• Intelligent transport
• Electric Vehicle Infrastructure & Operations.
Analysts also highlighted a shift in the maturity of the sustainability market, moving beyond Green IT and toward sustainability business and technology services.
"The big money today is in contracts that support sustainability initiatives like London’s city-wide bike hire scheme, systems integration for 400MW offshore wind farms, and unified global IT systems for energy efficiency and emissions reporting,” said David Metcalfe, Verdantix CEO who was recently named Green IT Analyst Of The Year. “To win these deals, IT services firms must show the entrepreneurial flair and strategic intent demonstrated by Logica," said Metcalfe
