Real-Time Business Intelligence

The new oil & gas paradigm is data-driven decisions. But the real challenge is in how to manage large, simultaneous streams of data, extract and analyze them in real-time to reach decisions more quickly.

Real-time Business Intelligence (RT-BI) gives users the ability to sense and process complex events hidden in massive real time data streams, enabling analysis and reaction in near real-time. The core of RT-BI is Complex Event Processing (CEP), involving the  continuous and incremental processing of event streams from multiple sources based on declarative query and pattern specifications with near-zero latency.

How is this different from BI as we know it? Traditional Business Intelligence starts with surveillance, data sampling and capture, post event analysis, and then notification of actions taken. Each of these steps has latency, RT-BI is designed to reduce these latencies to as close to zero as possible.

Logica’s RT-BI solutions are based on Microsoft StreamInsight™, a powerful, cost-effective Complex Event Processing (CEP) platform. Included in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, StreamInsight™ features high-throughput stream processing architecture and .NET-based development environment. Knowledge and Content Management

Our knowledge and content management solutions include traditional document management along with business process and workflow management, web content and collaboration all underpinned by information architecture, taxonomy and standards.

Closely related to the SharePoint wave is the adoption of third party tools and applications built on SharePoint platforms. One such example is CLM’s Matrix Contract Lifecycle Management solution. Matrix is a wizard-driven, policy-based contract creation and workflow approval system designed to dynamically build both standard and custom configured contracts based upon pre-defined business rules. Matrix is fully configurable without programming which allows organizations to work the way they want to work using Microsoft’s Office productivity tools.
